When you arrive…

Pick up the festival handbill and look at the “Diversions and Amusements” schedule.  There are three locations for the scheduled activities.  Prepare thyself to step back in time… there’s always some Colonial demonstration and event popping up on the village streets that is unscheduled.  And there are hands on children’s activities and craftsman demonstrations throughout the festival and throughout the day.

Take a seat at The Crown Grant Theatre

From entrance gates 2 and 3 just follow Bushy Run Road to the trees.  Hear the rousing tunes of life and laughter from groups such as Pint and a Half, and Celtic Shores.   You’ll be amazed by all the 18th century circus performers, Faire Wynds can do.  And this is where the roving Bagpipes will start or finish their ‘Round A bout’ marches.

Crowd-at-Battle-in-Braddocks-Field

Enjoy a sitdown at Kuskusky Stage

Hear untold myth busters during the Hidden History Revelations and feel free to ask away about the French & Indian War and other questions about your Early American heritage.  Activities vary each day, you can find a children and family and sing along or see a magic trick or musical performance by Faire Wynds.

Charge Braddock’s Field

Near entrance gates 4 and 5, the historic re-enactments, artillery skills and citizen’s drills as well as the children’s games and pastimes will commence. It is also the gateway to the living history camps, where you can meet the French Contrecour, the British Capt. Wm. Trents Virginia Company of the Royal Regiment  and the Scottish Montgomery 42nd Company of Foot among many other colonial regulars.<
